30 days of Mele: Day 8
Happy Easter! To celebrate, my Hawaiian music for the day is a hymn. The Kamehameha Schools are an institution in Hawai‘i for the children and descendents of Native Hawaiians. Each year their main campus holds a song contest, where the different classes compete for school honors. Each song contest begins with a prayer, and with the singing of the Doxology (the Old Hundredth) in Hawaiian.
This video is from the 2008 Kamehameha Schools contest. I can't embed the video, but I've linked from where it starts (around the 4 minute mark).
Day 8: Ho‘onani I Ka Makua Mau
Enjoy!
